Susan Boyle’s Youtube Way to Fame

In a post some time back, I wrote about the Youtube way to Math fame.

Now, a lady in her 40s who took part in Britain’s Got Talent is on her way to phenomenal Youtube success and also real-life success. An Internet clip of her audition has garnered 85.2 million hits!

That’s definitely one for the history books! She’s even got her own Susan Boyle wikipedia entry, and she’s not even won the competition yet.

In a way, it’s not hard to understand the appeal of Susan Boyle. She looks as un-singer/pop star as can be, and therein lies the appeal. When she sings, people listen, and jaws drop (view the video clip if you don’t believe me.) Even the usually caustic Simon Cowell is speechless, and he’s already considering signing her on and planning her album!

So, even if doesn’t win the the competition, she’s won already.

Susan Boyle got her hair done and some nicer clothing…and would you believe that people are speculating that she might ruin her chances of winning by not staying as dowdy as she was!!!! I guess that because there was such a contrast with the frumpy look and the wonderful…but getting spruced up isn’t going to make her voice any less beautiful, lol. This world is a strange place, and people are strange beings. I think her story is amazing, and I hope she becomes the singer she has always dreamed of being. Btw, I’ve been sucked into the world of Twitter.

    Hi 2ton!

Yes, Susan Boyle has a makeover! Ironically, her better looks seem to be hurting her chances. I guess she was so prominent in the show because of the stark contrast between her frumpy looks and her stunning voice! I mean, there are many good singers out there with good voices so she presented something different! She also present ths message of ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’, and that’s what makes her interesting!

    hello mdm,

I’m sorry havent visited for quite some time. Seriously like what you mentioned, maintaining a blog isnt easy. Partly because of the poor connection the other time, i’ve plain forgotten i had that blog already. I’ve gotten some relevant pictures regarding my blog. Will be uploading them once i have time. Take care.

P.S. New media requires quite an amount of effort to maintain too.

    Hi Jensen,

    Nice to hear from you.

Indeed, maintaining a blog is not always easy – it requires time and dedication. I must confess that at times, I have neglected my blog due to other pressing demands on my time. I will try my best to update the blog more regularly!

Does anyone else make the connection when Susan says she’s from Blackburn? In the Beatles song “a day in the life” they talk about “4,000 holes in Blackburn, Lancashire”.
